Either it’s “Jackie, I would LOVE to get my kids speaking my native language...but I don’t know where to start!”
It’s a GREAT point.
After all, it doesn’t make any sense for you to teach your kids your native language you have curriculum!
The other group says
“Can you recommend a good Swahili learning app that works well?”, or
“What software can I use to get my kids to learn Hausa or Yoruba online and see real results quick?”, or
”I tried my kids are just not interested!"...
If that’s you, I have GREAT NEWS: I have decided it's time to solve this problem for you.
Right now, you’re probably stuck on 1 of these 2 problems :
1. You want to start teaching your kids ...but you have no idea how.
You know they say the "road to hell is paved with good intentions" and we also always had the good intention that when they get to 5 years old, when they start high school.. I'd do a big session to get them started, maybe by then I'd have the tools...But how could I get a started without them? how could I start to get my kids being open to the language? How could I suddenly switch back to speaking to them in my language without the frustration for me and them that always happens? Most importantly, when will these tools ever be made that I need?
(Sigh. It's been 13 years, and the tools are STILL NOT OUT THERE. Until now...)

2. You have started, they can understand you, but they just don't speak in the language or embrace that part of who they are.
You tried and got them to understand. But now, probably some years later, your kids are no further along, they just don't see why it's useful, they don't bother to speak back to you at all in your language, so you need them to get comfortable speaking in a no-judgement environment (yes, you're not judging but they want to impress you so they won't speak to you unless they know what they are saying)
Well, guess what? Problem solved!
